Otala are an English crank-wave band that formed in Nottingham in 2022, consisting of Rory Allen, Charlotte Foulkes, Fin Hills, Oscar Thorpe, and Jack McInnes.[1]

History[edit]

The band self-released their debut EP Tell the Bees on the 3rd March 2023, the title track of which was picked by Nialler9 to place them on Glastonbury Festival's Emerging Talent Competition Longlist[2] only 13 days later.

In February 2024 the band announced that they will release their first single in over a year, Commedia under Lil Chop Record Shop[3]

Musical influences[edit]

Otala's musical style has been described as a fusion of post-rock, jazz, and post-punk[4][5]
