Misty Blues is an American band based in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. The band's core members include Gina Coleman, Seth Fleischmann, Bill Patriquin, Ben Kohn, Rob Tatten, Aaron Dean,^[1] and Diego Mongue (Gina's son).^[2] The band was a finalist in the International Blues Challenge in 2019.^[3]

History[edit]

Misty Blues was founded in 1999 by its lead singer and founder, Gina Coleman.^[4]^[5]

The band's music collection includes collaborations with artists such as Eric Gales, ^[6] Charles Neville, and Joe Louis Walker. Misty Blues also opened for contemporary blues icons like Tab Benoit, James Montgomery, and John Primer.^[2]^[4]^[5]

Misty Blues has toured throughout the continental U.S., Canada, and the UK. ^[4]^[5]

Misty Blues began when Gina Coleman was cast as a gospel singer in the Williamstown Theatre Festival production of A Raisin In The Sun in 1999. ^[7] Encouraged by actor Ruben Santiago Hudson, Coleman transitioned into the blues genre, marking the inception of Misty Blues.^[4]^[5]^[8]

Misty Blues has received multiple nominations for the Independent Blues Music Awards.^[2] ^[9]
