Reception[edit]

Following her debut in X, Maxine Minx has received significant critical and audience praise—having been regarded as one of the best heroines of the 2020s and a modern subversion of the "final girl" trope. Writing for /Film, critic Witney Seibold describes Maxine as "an intense, upbeat, coke-addicted pole dancer with dreams of escape." Writing for MovieWeb, Trey Barrett wrote that Maxine subverts the final girl trope due to her drug use and her career as a porn star.
