Max is Missing is a TV film released in 1995 that takes place in Peru, following the harrowing adventure of 12-year-old Max who, after happening upon mischief in the hills of Machu Picchu, is separated from his father and is swept into a trek through natural hazards and criminal hijinx, with the aid and assistance of a local Peruvian boy. The story involves Incan legend and motif, and was shot on location in Machu Picchu, Aguas Calientes, the Sacred Valley (including the Urubamba River), Ollantaytambo, and Cusco. It was the first movie Lane Toran Caudell starred in (playing Max) and the third film for his co-star, Victor Rojas (playing Juanito, the local Peruvian boy).
The film was directed by Mark Griffiths and written by Gordon Cassidy and Mark Griffiths. Charles Napier, Matthew Sullivan, Alexandra Hedison, Rick Dean, Ramsay Ross, Iris Peynado, Ramón García, and Reynaldo Arenas were among the cast.
