Lap of Lux is the third official mixtape by Sir Michael Rocks. It follows the back to back releases of 2011's The Rocks Report and Premier Politics. Released in 2012, production includes some of the genre's most noteworthy producers, including Hit-Boy, and Chuck Inglish.
Release and promotion[edit]
Leading up to the release, Sir Michael Rocks capitalized on social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook to tease snippets of tracks, behind-the-scenes studio footage, and artwork related to "Lap of Lux." This tactic not only built anticipation among existing fans but also caught the attention of potential new listeners through shares and retweets.
Collaborations played a significant role in the mixtape's promotional strategy. Featuring artists like Mac Miller, Casey Veggies, and Rockie Fresh, the project leveraged the fan bases of these collaborators, expanding its reach.
