The Maldives, an archipelago nation in the Indian Ocean, is renowned for its picturesque islands, pristine beaches, and vibrant marine life. Comprising 1,192 coral islands grouped into 26 administrative atolls, the Maldives is one of the world's most geographically dispersed countries. Each inhabited island contributes to the unique cultural tapestry and socio–economic landscape of the nation.

Since the 20th century's last years and twenty–first century, the capital city, Malé has been the most populated island and city in the Maldives.[1] In accordance to 2022 Census of Maldives, 211,908 live in Malé.[2]
