Islam and Evolution: Al Ghazali and Modern Evolutionary Paradigm is a book on Islamic theology and the scientific theory of evolution as well as other scientific topics written by the Islamic scholar and science professor Shoaib Ahmed Malik.[1][2][3][4][5][6] The book delves into the theory of evolution, it's development and history, the evidences for it, the objections against it, the controversies surrounding it, opinions both in support of and against it from other religious denominations, Muslim's views towards it, and how it can be reconciled with the Islamic faith.[7] The book has seen popularity in recent times due to it's well documentation of the theory of evolution and religious (particularly Muslim's) views towards it.

The book's writer, Shoaib Ahmed Malik, is a Muslim theologian and a theistic evolutionist (alternatively evolutionary creationist).[8] His ideas regarding evolution theory are reconcilable with any schools of theology and Islamic sects, although strong emphasis has been put on Ash'arism. The book starts by giving the readers a basic idea about the evolution theory and the evidences for it and why the scientific consensus supports it so much.[9] Then, the book goes through a basic look at the history of evolutionary thought.[10] The book then reviews various criticisms of the evolution theory.[11] Here, Malik gives counter-criticism, debunking all of the mentioned objections against evolution. He also debunked various misconceptions about the theory and it's history in various sections by this point. Then, the following chapters takes a slight look at Christian theology and focuses on Christian views towards evolution and creationism.[12] Here, the concept of intelligent design is introduced and explained.[13] Then, the book delves into Islamic theology, Islamic sects and schools of theology (especially Ash'arism) to give the reader a basic idea about Islamic theology and how can one come under any kinds of theological conclusions and how to theologically review anything.[14] The book then looks at various Muslim's views towards the evolution theory and what various Muslims, particularly scholars and scientists, have to say for it.[15] Then, Malik discusses about various metaphysical considerations and explains how Islam and the theory of evolution can be made compatible.[16]
