Its current school district is the Wake County Public School System.[1] It's current principal is Gerald Hernandez Jr.[3] The school has an [estimated] amount of 75 current staff.[citation needed] The school currently has 530 students[citation needed], with the school being a all-gender school, meaning that all genders are permitted to study at this school.[1] The schools test scores, for the reading and math North Carolina End of Grade Tests are 70% for math, and 70% for reading in 2022-2023.[4]

The original building was constructed in the 1960s. [5] In 2020, the school underwent building renovation, as part of a wider county rebuilding program. The new building was opened in 2022, coinciding with the schools 60th anniversary.[6]
In 2024, the school got awarded the Magnet Schools of America School of Excellence merit award[3], previously being a Magnet Schools of America School of Distinction.[2]
