Free Courses in England is an online education platform that provides certificate courses to adults in England. The courses are funded by HM government in the form of the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA). The courses are delivered via distance learning. Free Courses in England was founded in 2016.

Courses[edit]

As of April 2024, Free Courses in England offer over 70 free online courses with a focus on mental health, business, teaching, healthcare and IT courses.

The first courses to be made available in 2016 included; Mental Health First Aid, Understanding Autism, and The Principles of Business Administration.

Qualifications[edit]

Free Courses in England provide Level 2 qualifications. The qualifications are accredited by British examination board NCFE, and awarding and end-point assessment organisation TQUK. All qualifications are regulated by United Kingdom government department Ofqual.

Eligibility requirements[edit]

  • Aged 19 or over
  • Living in England
  • Have lived in the UK/EU/EEA for at least 3 years*
  • Not completed any part of the course before

*EEA nationals will need to have obtained either pre settlement or settled status and provide evidence of this.
