Draft:Christminster (interactive fiction)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Christminster is an interactive fiction game by Gareth Rees that takes place in the fictitious Biblioll College.

You incarnate Christabel Spencer, sister of Malcolm Spencer, and will try to meet your brother at the Biblioll campus. The topics of magic, alchemy, and college life permeate the game.

The game was published on August 8, 1995,[1] and was developed with the Inform system, version 5.

The layout of the college in-game is based off of Christ's College, a constituent college of the University of Cambridge, and the details of the college are inspired by the history of Balliol College.[2]

In his 2003 book, Twisty Little Passages, Nick Montfort called the game the "highest achievement in [the] college genre of interactive fiction".[2]
