Bharti Artist Colony Is India's first residential colony only for artists, founded by legendary Indian painter E.Kumaril Swamy in 1968.
Since E.Kumaril Swamy was a well established artist and a social reformer , it was very difficult for him to see other artists struggling for even the basic necessities like income or a roof to live under. Thus, E.Kumaril Swamy decided to provide a residential houses for the struggling artists.
