Avani Bakaya (born 1995, New Delhi) is an artist based in Delhi, India, known for her work in painting. Bakaya's art explores images from her life and how they connect with her innermost thoughts. She graduated from the College of Art, Delhi with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts in Painting, where she was awarded first position in her final year. Bakaya is currently being mentored by Mr. Rameshwar Broota at Triveni Kala Sangam.

Early Life and Education[edit]

Bakaya was born and raised in New Delhi, India. She attended Sardar Patel Vidyalaya from 1999 to 2013 and pursued art at Triveni Kala Sangam from 2008 to 2013. In 2017, she graduated from the College of Art, Delhi with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, specializing in Painting.

Career[edit]

Since completing her education, Avani Bakaya has been active in the Indian art scene, participating in numerous exhibitions and art fairs.

2023[edit]

Painting selected for the 63rd National Exhibition of Art at Lalit Kala Akademi. Participated in the CIMA Art Mela at the Visual Art Gallery IHC with other eminent artists. Featured in the Summer Show at Shridharani Gallery, Triveni Kala Sangam with other Triveni artists.

2022[edit]

Showcased at the Vasant Fest Artalinda, a boutique art fair in collaboration with Artalinda. Paintings and drawings selected for the 93rd & 94th All India Annual Art Exhibition at AIFACS. Finalist at the CIMA Awards Show 2022. Participated in the Young Collectors Weekend by Cultivate Art Global & Teesta Bhandare. Featured in the 55th Annual Exhibition at Birla Academy of Art and Culture.

2021[edit]

Annual Exhibition of Art at Sangeet Shyamala. Solo exhibition "Of Floating Desires" at Triveni Gallery, supported by The Raza Foundation. "26 under 25" at Surrendra Paul Art Gallery. Participated in "Rooted" - a virtual group exhibition and "Women & Vision" at Surrendra Paul Gallery.

Exhibited at Arpana Fine Art Gallery during the Third All India Annual Exhibition.

Avani's work reflects her personal experiences and observations, translating them into visual narratives that resonate with broader themes of emotion and introspection. Under the mentorship of Rameshwar Broota, her style has evolved to explore deeper connections between her inner world and the canvas.
