Early Life and Entrepreneurial Beginnings[edit]
Aadit Palicha, born in 2001 in Mumbai, India, is an entrepreneur who embarked on his business career at the age of 17. He initiated his entrepreneurial journey with the establishment of GoPool before making a decision to discontinue his computer engineering studies at Stanford University in the United States to pursue independent business ventures.[1][2]
Co-Founder of Zepto[edit]
In 2021, Aadit Palicha, alongside Kaivalya Vohra, co-founded Zepto, a quick-commerce platform specializing in a 10-minute grocery delivery service. This move coincided with the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.[3]
Transition from Stanford University to Entrepreneurship[edit]
Both Palicha and Vohra initially enrolled at Stanford University to pursue a degree in computer engineering but chose to drop out. After their decision to focus on Zepto, the company gained prominence in the competitive landscape of online grocery services.[4]
Success and Funding[edit]
Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra successfully secured a substantial investment of $60 million in a funding round led by Glade Brook, Nexus, Lachy Groom, Y Combinator, and Global Founders Capital. This funding injection has propelled Zepto's growth, with Palicha highlighting the company's consistent 200% monthly growth, high Net Promoter Scores (NPS), and strong user retention rates.[5]
Previous Venture: KiranaKart[edit]
Before Zepto, Palicha and Vohra launched KiranaKart, a grocery delivery platform founded in June 2020. While KiranaKart did not achieve the same level of success, it laid the groundwork for the ideas that would later shape Zepto.[6]
