On April 28, 2024, a bus crash occurred in Malinalco, State of Mexico.[1] The crash happened when a bus that was carrying pilgrims, coming from San Luis de la Paz in Guanajuato overturned on the Capulín-Chalma highway to the Chalma sanctuary.[1][2] The cause is unknown, but it has been speculated as tire malfunctions.[3] 14 people were killed instantly, while 4 more died in the hospital, according to the State of Mexico's secretary of security.[1]

Reaction[edit]

After the crash, people provided water and blankets to victims and their families. State officials of the State of Mexico and Guanajuato said they were assisting the families of the victims.[1]
