- Comment: Not notable enough per Wikipedia:General notability or Wikipedia:Notability (events) for a separate article, but worth adding to Israel–Hamas war protests in the United States#University protests. Wikishovel (talk) 12:54, 18 April 2024 (UTC)
The Gaza Solidarity Encampment is an occupation of the campus of Columbia University by pro-Palestinian students meant to protest the university's investment policies.[1] The protesters demand that the university divest from companies that they are allege are complicit in apartheid and the genocide of Palestinians.[2]
History[edit]
At around four in the morning on April 17th 2024, protesters set up tents on a lawn located on the east of the quadrangle of Columbia University's Morningside Campus.[1]
