The 1953 Winter Deaflympics (Norwegian: Deaflympics Vinter 1953) officially known as the II International Winter Games for the Deaf (Norwegian: II Internasjonale vinterleker for døve) is an international multi-sport event that was held from 20 February 1953 to 24 February 1953. This event was hosted by Oslo, Norway.[1]

The Games held coinciding the 1953 Summer Deaflympics. This was the last time that the Winter and Summer Games coincided in the same year.
Only 6 Nations participated at the inaugural Winter Deaflympics including the host nation Norway. The other nations were Austria, Finland, Germany, Sweden and Yugoslavia. Alpine Skiing, Cross-Country Skiing and Ski jumping were the only sports being introduced at the competition.
This was the first time that women were allowed to participate at the inaugural Winter Deaflympics.
