Merger proposal[edit]

Merge this category and Accreditation mill into List of unrecognized accreditation associations of higher learning, as this is just saying the same controversial thing three ways, and review of all three indicates no objective criterion for inclusion that would permit the category to be maintained with WP:NPOV. Proposing discussion only, not inserting templates at this time. Please discuss at Talk:List of unrecognized accreditation associations of higher learning. JJB 18:52, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

  • Oppose as i have indicated elsewhere, the category and list are complementary and should not be merged. Racepacket (talk) 16:10, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • A bit late, my fellow editor. Please continue here, especially if you can answer the question on sourcing and inclusion criteria. JJB 23:45, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
      • Not so fast, John J. Bulten. You started a discussion at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2010 November 18#Category:Unrecognized accreditation associations, where it is clear that there is no support for your proposed deletion. You are not entitled to abandon the proposal you made there and insist that unless everyone who commented follows you to a new venue for discussion, you will treat their WP:SILENCE as consensus. --Orlady (talk) 00:48, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
      • Not only that -- the proposal begun here 18 months ago was "discussion only", and the proposer says "not inserting templates at this time" (thus it is clear this was not an oversight). It was therefore wholly improper to proceed with an actual "merger" (a fortiori the deletion of a category), and reverting the associated changes was the right response. JJB is also reminded that WP:SILENCE is an essay, to be ignored as one wishes. Nomoskedasticity (talk) 10:37, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
