No transgender and transsexual "male" actors? Or transgender porn actors?[edit]

It seems odd that this category has "Category:Transgender and transsexual actresses" but no "Category:Transgender and transsexual actors" unless they happen to do porn films. What about women who transition to be male who are actors?

And all transgender and transsexual porn actors are purely transsexual, there are no transgender ones listed because the categories exclude them.69.125.134.86 (talk) 15:50, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Historically, for the record, Wikipedia did not do any gender separation at all in "actors" categories — "actresses" categories were disallowed, and both male actors and female actresses were just filed in "actors" categories. The consensus to gender-separate them was quite recent (as in within the past few months) and may not have been entirely resolved yet — but the situation so far is that separate subcategories for "male actors" don't yet exist as widely as "actresses" subcategories do, because the process of actually implementing the new consensus is still ongoing. The only real answer to your question, thus, is that you just happened to catch this at a time when the categorization situation is evolving, but hasn't finished being implemented yet. It seems obvious to me that the insistence that "Transsexual and transgender actors" need to be classified as either "male/masculine" or "female/feminine" is absurd; I therefore suggest that these sub-categories should be made non-diffusing (if I remember the terminology correctly).
