Doing so would cause pages in this category to be auto-indexed in the category it redirects to. This is also how template redirects work, which is an intentional MediaWiki feature though does not help in this case with categories. 172.112.210.32 (talk) 04:45, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
