Hong Kong as a city state[edit]

  • I don't think Hong Kong is a city state, but more importantly no other editor on Wikipedia over this category's 10 year history believes that Hong Kong is a city state, the consensus is that it is not.--KTo288 (talk) 11:39, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • As the term "City-state" is broadly defined, it is inevitable to notice, when studying the term "City-state," that quite a lot of - academic or public - publications have considered Hong Kong, along with Macau, UAE's constitutional states, and other autonomous cities as "city-states". It is less important whether or not past editors placed Hong Kong under the category of City States, but more importantly, how academically the term develops and how present editors, like you and I, improve Wikipedia and present the latest and most accurate knowledge to the public.
