Opening comment[edit]
If anyone objects to solo artists being in this category (Veronika Fischer, Gerhard Gundermann, etc), please say something and we'll change the category name to East German musical acts or performers or something similar. i can see no "east german musical bands" in this category. they are all "east german music bands". A "musical" is a german "Musical"!!

Category:East German musical groups → GDR musical groups — It is silly to equal the GDR with East Germany. E-Kartoffel (talk) 14:25, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
- East Germany is the common name for the DDR in English, not GDR - it's not a silly name at all, see East Germany for more information. It should only be used for groups from the time of the DDR however. Knepflerle (talk) 14:52, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
