Specifically, subcategories exist for each of the three main campuses under the University of Alaska System. Individuals who should be placed in this particular category include alumni of community colleges recognized as independent of the main campuses, recipients of honorary degrees awarded by the university's Board of Regents rather than by individual campuses, and other special circumstances. Pre-1975 alumni, whose degrees read simply the "University of Alaska," are largely alumni of the Fairbanks campus, but there are also some alumni of the other two campuses. Those individuals should be placed in the categories pertaining to the campus they graduated from, not this category.
