Good balance[edit]

I commend the authors of the article for giving appropriate weight to critics of the project, and for shedding further light on a story that I had thought had been over and done with. Few dedicated Wikipedians monitor the mailing lists, I suspect, and it is of great credit to the contributors to the Signpost that they report on prurient project discussions wherever they occur. Keep up the good work!  Skomorokh  23:09, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Prurient"? I don't think that word means what you think it does. I'm scratching my head over which one you meant, & the best I can come up with is "relevant", which looks nothing like what you wrote. -- llywrch (talk) 16:59, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Not to be flippant, but if you don't understand the term, it is there in the dictionary for you to look up; my comment was in reference to the urging to insinuate the presence of corrupt practices regarding Halperin's accession to the board seat. Unless I'm mistaken, "prurient" means "arousing or appealing to sexual desire". There's nothing sexual in the story, nor in the mailing lists (well, not very often). To repeat myself, I don't think that word means what you think it does. (Which is a paraphrase from a line in a movie popular 20-30 years ago.) -- llywrch (talk) 17:23, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Malayalam Wiktionary[edit]

How can the Malayalam Wiktionary have reached 12,000 entries, 10,000 entries, and 6,000 entries? +Angr 05:52, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

well, I think all of those things are necessarily true :) but the answer is not properly checking my cut & paste from Meta. Fixed. -- phoebe / (talk to me) 17:07, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
