Discussion to deprecate Template:Cite doi

Template:Cite doi allows editors to generate a citation from a digital object identifier. There is a discussion to deprecate this template. Since doi's are used the sciences and this is a science WikiProject, I am inviting anyone here to comment. Blue Rasberry (talk) 14:24, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

Merging science and technology categories

FYI, there is a suggestion to merge the history of science and history of technology category trees, see WP:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2015_September_12#Science_and_technology -- 70.51.202.113 (talk) 05:13, 14 September 2015 (UTC)

Planform

The article at Planform has been proposed for deletion. The term is used in various disciplines including aviation, the study of river meanders, the convection of fluids and probably elsewhere too. The article has been reposted for deletion due to the minimal discussion to date. I'd be grateful for your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Planform. — Cheers, Steelpillow (Talk) 17:52, 19 September 2015 (UTC)

"laser pressure", or the force exerted by a laser beam

I have started a discussion in Talk:Laser science to ask the question: where in Wikipedia is the place that laser pressure, or "the force exerted by a laser beam", is explicated. Alternatively, if it is not explained anywhere on-wiki, where might be the place it should be explicated? Would appreciate input from any interested persons; just leave a comment over there. Cheers. Seeking input on a student handbook for editing chemistry articles

Hello all! The Wiki Education Foundation is preparing to print a handbook to help student editors working with chemistry articles in higher education across the USA and Canada. You can find the draft text here. I'd really appreciate input from other editors on the Talk page. I've already reached out to WikiProject Chemistry, but additional feedback would be great! Do feel free to share with other interested parties. I note that any feedback is especially helpful prior to Nov. 13 (this Friday). Thanks everyone. Eryk (Wiki Ed) (talk) 00:46, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

Review a draft article?

I'm going to cut/paste this to three boards, so it'll be the same on each. Long story short, there's an article at AfC entitled Draft:Geophysical signal analysis. It was previously declined as reading like a report/essay, so it could use some help from someone familiar with the topic. It looks like it should be a notable topic, so I just want someone experienced with the topic to ensure that everything is in order (since I am not familiar with this at all). Suggestions welcome on article-writing handbook for university students writing about genes and proteins

Hello all! The Wiki Education Foundation is creating a guidebook for higher ed students in the USA and Canada who are assigned to write articles about genes and proteins. If anyone has good advice for students, or would like to review the contents of the handbook to suggest changes, we'd love to hear from you! You can find the proposed draft here. This guide is intended to serve as a complement to a series of guidebooks on editing basics and participating in the community. The core of the brochure is therefore focused exclusively on writing these kinds of articles. Thanks in advance! Eryk (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:41, 16 December 2015 (UTC)
