List of Puerto Ricans

The list is becoming large. What about we start WP:SUMMARY into sub-lists?--Cerejota (talk) 04:06, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

  • I agree that it is long. It can also be divided into parts, Ex.: "List of Puerto Ricans, Pt. 1 (A - F)" and so on. Tony the Marine (talk) 20:50, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
I was thinking more in terms of the categories. Since we would be using WP:SUMMARY, that would protect the sub-articles from deletion.--Cerejota (talk) 17:19, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
  • I thought that the idea was to divide the list or to have the list redirect to smaller lists. Categories only list the names of those who have an article in Wikipedia, unlike the list which can be referenced and where you could learn something of the subjects by reading a short sentence which accompany the name. Let's say that the list leads you to "Category: Puerto Rican writers". You will see a bunch of names and that is it. There is no further information on the other writers who may be related to the subject which you are interested in nor any references to note if the perosn on the category is notable in the first place. Maybe I'm not making any sense at all, but that isn't new. Tony the Marine (talk) 18:25, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
Ha! I meant the sub-articles as per categories, not alphabetical order. Like "list of puerto rican scientists" being a sub-list of "list of puerto ricans".--Cerejota (talk) 19:06, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
  • I see, Sounds good to me. Cerejota, don't you wish that from time to time others joined our conversations in this forum? Where are they when you want their opinion? Tony the Marine (talk) 19:11, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
Yeah I agree... why so quiet?--Cerejota (talk) 20:33, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
