Academic awards[edit]

Should Academic All-American's be included or excluded. Maybe it's recentism on my part, but the "student" in student-athlete is a joke now, and it doesn't get much coverage. This would affect Senior CLASS too.—Bagumba (talk) 12:43, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Personally, I think Academic All-American is notable. I do not think academic all-conference is. Senior CLASS is by and large the best senior player. I have occasionally seen academics or character creep into the winners, but generally it's just the top performing senior player, assuming they don't have clear character issues. The main reason I'm lukewarm on SENIOR class is that I dont think it gets mentioned much after the fact (perhaps because they are no longer in school). Even the award winning doesn't seem to get much press (outside of schools and blogs). For example, I quickly tried seaching for Josh Hart's, and only get like this, which is more becuase the local Gonzaga player was named a Senior CLASS All-American.—Bagumba (talk) 11:55, 3 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Naismith HOF awards[edit]

@Rikster2: You mentioned that Senior CLASS was on par with these. Actually, aside from the big names (i.e. Kareem, et al) associated with the awards' name, I don't see the awards getting much coverage. Is it WP:UNDUE to keep in the infobox?—Bagumba (talk) 12:45, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
