A quick question on task forces[edit]

Would the adding of associated task forces count even if there are already some associated task forces that have been added? TheBestEditorInEngland (talk) 16:21, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@TheBestEditorInEngland: Yes. Gog the Mild (talk) 17:52, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the help/clarification! TheBestEditorInEngland (talk) 19:07, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Project banner template[edit]

I have had difficulty in getting the project banner template to show class C on the article talk pages. Maybe there is no provision for class C on this template? I can get it to show class B or start class. Any suggestions as to which I should use as a substitute for class C? Thanks. Storye book (talk) 11:00, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

G'day Storye book. The template automatically overrides the entered class if the necessary criteria are not marked yes. To be C-Class it must have b1 or b2 marked yes and the other three marked yes. Can you give me an example of an article you're having this problem with? Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 03:32, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. The projects are listed under my name here. It's all of them - not because of the projects, but because I don't get how to fix the template. Please give me an example of a template fixed as you describe above? Thank you for your kind advice so far. Storye book (talk) 10:10, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Assessing stubs[edit]

Some articles are merely marked {{WPMILHIST|stub}} or similar. If this is changed to give assessments for each of the B category areas, but the overall stub assessment remains, does this count as an assessment for the contest? --Lineagegeek (talk) 17:22, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you assess all five criteria, yes. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 03:30, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Requested articles[edit]

@Peacemaker67: Where can I find the list of requested articles? If I recall correctly, two years ago it was on the MILHIST front page, or something really obvious, but now I can't find it. L293D ( • ) 01:44, 15 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@L293D: G'day, the main project open tasks list can be found here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Open tasks. Also, there are some useful links here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/March Madness 2020#Useful links, which will also help you find requested articles. Article(s) within scope?[edit]

@WP:MILHIST coordinators: I post my questions here because it is not that relevant for the project's main talk page and I also do not want to claim points for articles that are not within the scope of the project:

Are transmitters for the LORAN system such as this one within the project's scope?
Are GPS satellites such as this one within the project's scope?

PINTofCARLING (talk) 21:14, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Tricky. I would say yes to the first one (due to its military origins) and no to the second (as it is too generic). Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 00:59, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the reply. It is tricky indeed and clearer for purely military reconnaissance satellites. The infobox for many of the GPS satellites states the USAF as the operator, so I tagged them, but that can be easily reverted. With the arrival of Space Force, I assume that these tricky questions will only increase, as there might be a new focus on this area. There is quite a grey area for US articles (only ones I've checked) in which military research or at least military funded research and civilian uses or involvement overlap. Missed me in the table[edit]

@Peacemaker67:, @Gog the Mild: I have not been included in the points table. I created six articles, one of which was assessed B class within the month. I assume this oversight was because my worklist was blank in the other categories. I would appreciate being added to the table. Donner60 (talk) 10:11, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Donner60, it's a work in progress. Worry ye not, a pair of well deserved chevrons will be on your talk page just as soon as we can persuade the delivery person to bestir themselves. Gog the Mild (talk) 10:18, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Gog the Mild: No problem. I saw the table on the project page and it appeared complete except for me being bypassed so I thought I had been missed altogether. Now that I look at the worklist itself, I see that you had verified the total and I assume I will be put on the list as well. Thanks for all your work on this project and on the March Madness in particular. I deleted my ping to Australian Rupert. I should not have added him to the message and it may be too late to have deleted that. I did so out of memory for his longtime work on the project, forgetting to check that he was no longer on the committee. I am sorry for any inconvenience to him. Thanks, again. Donner60 (talk) 10:25, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. It is always best to remind than not. We are all volunteers and entirely liable to slip up when doing the more tedious jobs such as repeatedly tallying scores. At least I am. Gog the Mild (talk) 10:29, 2 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No worries from me, too. Gog and PM and the others have things well in hand. Hope you are all well. Cheers, AustralianRupert (talk) 06:56, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
