2022 State Legislative Redistricting

I have not surveyed the various Michigan state Senate or House district pages, but I expect nearly all will be impacted by the redistricting which has occurred in the state. Pretty big effort required there to catch all the districts up to current status. CogSurplus (talk) 21:09, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

Review request for Tudor Dixon, 2022 Michigan governor candidate

Hello, can someone be so kind as to review Draft:Tudor Dixon? It's about a major Republican candidate (and most likely the nominee) for the 2022 Michigan gubernatorial election. Thanks a lot! FlantasyFlan (talk) 05:01, 2 August 2022 (UTC)

2022 in Michigan

I started 2022 in Michigan today. It needs work to add notable events and deaths and to update the sports section as various sports seasons conclude. 2020 in Michigan is in decent shape as an example of what it should eventually look like. Help appreciated. Cbl62 (talk) 22:43, 4 September 2022 (UTC)

Also started 2021 in Michigan. Help building it welcome! Cbl62 (talk) 21:26, 6 September 2022 (UTC)

Proposed merge of Haskell canoe into Haskelite

As part of working through some Good Articles that need assessing I have proposed the merging of Haskell canoe into Haskelite with discussion at Talk:Haskelite#Merger discussion. As there are currently both good articles I am notifying the appropriate WikiProjects per WP:PAM. Gusfriend (talk) 10:32, 18 September 2022 (UTC)

Dixboro separate article

I have been thinking about writing a separate article for Dixboro for a while now, as the page currently redirects to a short paragraph on the page for Superior Charter Township. I think it's notable enough and has a long enough history that it could be well sourced. For example, I have this book about the town which goes into some detail about the founding and early history. It cites lots of sources (maps and records and so forth). It seems like this would provide a nice starting point. I'm sure there are more sources as well. If anyone is interested in collaborating on this, let me know! Patr2016 (talk) 02:37, 12 November 2022 (UTC)

  • Go for it! Here's some additional sourcing:

Thank you! These sources look great, and definitely include stuff that isn't in the book. Patr2016 (talk) 05:16, 12 November 2022 (UTC)

Absolutely! I have it on my list of unincorporated communities that definitely deserve their own article. If you need some suggestions to make sure that Dixboro has enough generic formats and information, my subpage User:Notorious4life/Unincorporated communities in Michigan can offer some suggestions. -Notorious4life (talk) 03:15, 12 November 2022 (UTC)

Well, that's my weekend project decided then. Thanks for the input! Patr2016 (talk) 05:16, 12 November 2022 (UTC)

Ok, so I have created a draft article in my sandbox and put some incredibly preliminary info there. Still have to finish article content, add the infobox, add an image (planning to go take one myself because I couldn't find one I liked on Commons), and cite the sources. If anyone wants to contribute, feel free! Patr2016 (talk) 05:58, 13 November 2022 (UTC)

Holland (MI) High School

I was curious to see what, if anything, was on the HHS page in Wikipedia. To be charitable, it could definitely use some updating. The most recent "notable alumni" listing doesn't contain anyone past the 1960's. Surely there must be someone of national/international renown. 96.5.122.20 (talk) 20:01, 21 November 2022 (UTC)

Spring 2022 Meeting

Hey everyone! I am looking to organize a Michigan-based Wikipedia event, perhaps around 3 days, where we could all meet around a certain theme or themes. Let me know what you think? I am mostly active within the cultural and music-based worlds of Wikipedia, so that is my expertise. This is the first time I am trying to organize something like this so please if anyone has any advice or would like to help me I am all ears. I am posting this notice on the Ann Arbor and Michigan pages as well. My email in johndvandevert@gmail.com if you'd like to reach out. JohnDVandevert (talk) 03:31, 22 January 2023 (UTC)

Informal Request for Attention re: Douglass Houghton Falls

There is some long-standing confusion about the correct name of Douglass Houghton Falls in Houghton County, which has led to a bit of a slow-burning edit war on that page. I just outlined a proposal to resolve this dispute on the talk page, and it would be great to have some editors come over and contribute their thoughts so that a consensus can be reached. Thanks all! Michigan Monopoly

Hi! I just started making a Michigan-themed monopoly board on my user page (can be found here) to draw attention to Michigan-related articles. Feel free to take part/suggest articles! Patr2016 (talk) 23:26, 28 March 2023 (UTC)

Project-independent quality assessments

Quality assessments by Wikipedia editors rate articles in terms of completeness, organization, prose quality, sourcing, etc. Most wikiprojects follow the general guidelines at Wikipedia:Content assessment, but some have specialized assessment guidelines. A recent Village pump proposal was approved and has been implemented to add a |class= parameter to {{WikiProject banner shell}}, which can display a general quality assessment for an article, and to let project banner templates "inherit" this assessment.

No action is required if your wikiproject follows the standard assessment approach. Over time, quality assessments will be migrated up to {{WikiProject banner shell}}, and your project banner will automatically "inherit" any changes to the general assessments for the purpose of assigning categories.

However, if your project has decided to "opt out" and follow a non-standard quality assessment approach, all you have to do is modify your wikiproject banner template to pass {{WPBannerMeta}} a new |QUALITY_CRITERIA=custom parameter. If this is done, changes to the general quality assessment will be ignored, and your project-level assessment will be displayed and used to create categories, as at present.  You are invited to join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Content assessment#Proposal: Reclassification of Current & Future-Classes as time parameter, which is within the scope of this WikiProject. This WikiProject received this message because it currently uses "Current" and/or "Future" class(es). There is a proposal to split these two article "classes" into a new parameter "time", in order to standardise article-rating across Wikipedia (per RfC), while also allowing simultaneous usage of quality criteria and time for interest projects.
