Please follow these edit habits:

• Note in the edit summary something like "polyatomic", "diatomic" or maybe "option 10" to signal your edit.
• Mark a template or page with a {{done}} (shows  Done) in this list.
• "prep" says that the /sandbox page is prepared for the change. That means the /sandbox code is new-category fit (just copy-paste!)
• Check the effect in article space freshly

Periodic table

Edits: See standard PT diff.

- 'post-transition' → 'poor' (8+4 predicted = 12x)
- 'other nonmetal' (7) → 'polyatomic nonmetal' or 'diatomic nonmetal'
- 'halogen' → 'polyatomic nonmetal' or 'diatomic nonmetal'
  (but: group 17 stays a [[Halogen|17]] link)
- astatine into 'metalloid' (1x)
- If 117 (Uus) is marked 'halogen', then change into 'metalloid (predicted)' - but do not add it.

Category name can be plural. Singular is preferred as standard ("this element is a poor metal"), unless the whole table uses plural. Capitalisation: not relevant (is set always throught the template) Do not change the legend |theme1=Category code. In extended PTs (Pyykkö) also to edit:

- Uus (117) into 'metalloid (predicted)' (1x)
- Usu (171) into 'diatomic nonmetal (predicted)' (1x)
- 'post-transition metal (predicted)' into 'poor metal (predicted)' (4x)

Legend code change

There are four {{periodic table legend}} themes affected. They will be replaced by their /sandbox. See {{Periodic table legend/testcases}} for the differences.

Template editing process

Please proceed by these steps (to prevent forgetting pages, and keep mis-coloring olny short period)

1. copy one legend /sandbox code into the live template page (e.g. Janet's)
2. mark it {{done}} here
3. edit each listed template for that legend (change element cells into "poor metal" etc.)
4. edit summary: please add "polyatomic" or so to identify the edit's background
5. mark the template {{done}} in the list here.
6. next theme of the four (best to do the 'predicted' ones last)

This way an old legend version, with links to "other nonmetal" and "halogen", will not exist any more. After the legend edit, for a few days of transition, the old style colored cells will show the new legend links (incorrect categorisation), as long as the template cells are not edited into option 10. This is deemed acceptable.

Electron shells

• commons Kernel colors for old halogens, old other non-metals (electron shell images in the infobox)

Trouble in paradise. These images are used in dozens of wikis, all using the old categories (so H should stay old green for their "other nonmetal" usage). See discussion.

• Solved: the new colors are in a different file (not overwriting). To be called separately in the Hydrogen infobox:
