Proposal reviews for Jim Johnsen article
I proposed a few updates on the talk page for Jim Johnsen Talk:Jim_Johnsen#Proposals For James Johnsen Article, the former president of University of Alaska, addressing balance and neutral point of view issues, as well as poorly sourced edits made by a singular editor. Is an editor from this group able to take a look at the proposals? I have a personal connection to Dr. Johnsen and I don’t want to violate Wikipedia’s conflict of interest policies. Donald Machholz
Was wondering if some members from WP:ACAD could take a look at Donald Machholz? He recently died and his wife has been editing the article. I left a note about making edit requests instead on her user talk page, but see never responded. She seems to mean well but the last edit she made might need some re-assessing. She provided a source for the content, but it's an obituary-type piece written by a friend of her and her husband; so, it's hard to ascertain it's reliability. The source also begins by directly mentioning content the wife by name and how she notified the author of her husband's death. It's one of those claims that seems really hard to verify, even when sourced, because there's no way to tell whether it's actually true. Small factual updates for Dr. David Agus
Hi, I'm here from the Ellison Institute to ask for help from Wikipedia editors to make some factual updates to the Dr. David Agus Wikipedia article. Dr. Agus is a professor of medicine and engineering at USC, and known for his work developing new cancer treatments. Since I have a financial conflict of interest I made an edit request and am not editing the page. I'm looking for editors to review my request and this WikiProject was linked on the article Talk page. I have three small updates: fixing the name of the Ellison Institute to remove USC, as that is no longer part of the organization's name; adding a mention of Dr. Agus and the Ellison Institute's work as part of the Global Health Security Consortium; adding Dr. Agus' TV show, "The Check Up". The request I've posted includes references and before and suggested text to assist with these edits.

Joseph DeRisi Early life and education draft
Hello! I'm looking to make updates to biochemist and UCSF professor Joseph DeRisi's Wikipedia page. I've composed a brief Early life and education section for the page, which covers aspects of Mr. DeRisi's pre-professional life: his place of birth, where he was educated, work he did before completing his Ph.D., etc. Some of these details are missing from the current version of the page, and some aren't backed up with credible sourcing. My section draft seeks to remedy those issues. I placed an edit request on Mr. DeRisi's Talk page, and you can view my draft by following this link.
To be completely transparent: I'm a COI editor working on behalf of the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub to propose improvements to Mr. DeRisi's page. You can view my full COI disclosure on my user page. There is an ongoing discussion about the Criticism section of Polyvagal Theory. The discussion is here: Talk:Polyvagal theory#Criticism of the criticism. This discussion needs editors who can take the time to read the approximately 10 academic journal articles that have been cited. The issue is whether 95% of the section represents original research on violation of WP:NOR or not. Reading academic articles to confirm the absence of criticism about a topic is a bit challenging, admittedly, which is why I think members of this project might be well-equipped for the task. Akhil Maheshwari
I'm not sure whether this is the correct task force for an article Akhil Maheshwari, but perhaps some other could take a look at the article an assess it. There seems to have been some heavy COI editing of the article and some parts might need to copyediting and revising per WP:NPOV and WP:NOTPROMOTION. The comments posted on the article's talk page also seem to be clear cases of WP:ADVOCACY (see also Talk:Global Newborn Society). While I'm assuming Maheshwari meets WP:BIO, lots of the article seems related to WP:MEDRS types of stuff that might need some checking by some users more experienced in articles about medical practioners/researchers to make sure it's acceptable for Wikipedia's purposes. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:11, 15 February 2023 (UTC)

Publication section best practices
I've looked at a number of biographies of active academics and can't really figure out what the best practices are for listing publications. Some articles are comprehensive in listing all books AND articles. Others just list books. Others still list "selected" publications that include a mixture of books and articles. I accept that there might not even be a preference for one over the other, though I really do like the cleaner "look" of including just books if any exist and then putting a link to Google Scholar in the external links. I would appreciate anyone's thoughts on the matter, as I want to try to go on a bit of a cleanup and expansion spree over in WP:GATECH pretty soon, and with that comes a desire for some uniformity. - I routinely remove exhaustive publication lists. Listing books is fine and we should list at most 3-5 articles selected following an objective criterium (usually # of citations according to WoS or GScholar, but sometimes a paper has been the subject of significant coverage in the lay press). Separate bibliography articles for academics have consistently been deleted at AfD. Hope this helps. --Randykitty (talk) 08:54, 16 April 2023 (UTC)

Ernest Rutherford
The page Ernest Rutherford has been updated to more fully include the details of his life and scientific work. The page now expands upon his educational biography, clarifies the timeline of key experiments, appends dates to several of his discoveries, and includes others which had previously been omitted. A handful of consolidation and clarification effects have also been made on miscellaneous other sections. Referencing published works
Hello all, I do not have a deep familiarity with clinical chemistry or hormones. So seeking advice.
I published Paul Brombacher#Publications mentioning the journals where he was the lead author of an article. I am not sure if this construes original research, or is stating the sky is blue (with appropriate references as well). Given that scholarly works are blind peer-reviewed, I know these don't qualify as primary sources, still this could be seen as promotional. - You should use an objective criterion to select notable publications. One way is to go by numbers of citations, listing the 3-5 most cited articles. --Randykitty (talk) 15:54, 3 July 2023 (UTC)

Manning G. Warren III
Would someone from S&A mind taking a look at Manning G. Warren III? It looks like there's been a heavy dose of COI editing taking place over the years based on the post made a few years back at Talk:Manning G. Warren III#About edits to this page. Apparently the subject of the article has been asking (having?) university assistants monitor and edit the page.
