Disaster/ vs event[edit]

This article presupposes events with subsequent effect upon population - what about events that are notable but minimal impact - should they be listed elsewhere? SatuSuro 02:07, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This page as it stands right now is a listing of events as detailed under Events By Category at the Emergency Management Australia - Disasters database. As the editor who made the differentiation between the so-called major and minor, be assured that it was purely arbitrary. The list really was created as a resource for editors interested in the history of Australian disasters, and should be gone through more carefully. I could imagine that notability exists in some of the minor events. If so, they should be moved to the major section, and maybe a short blurb about why - better yet, create a stub article.
