Visual editor?[edit]

Is it possible to edit the Meetup page using the visual editor? PlanetCare 17:45, 30 September 2017 (UTC)

No, it seems to be not possible for Wikipedia project pages to use the visual editor. I don't know why but I assume it's because they are usually set up by the more experienced editors who tend to prefer source editor.EMsmile (talk) 13:16, 2 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Improving the list of 100 articles[edit]

I am still bothered by how difficult it is to find a specific article on the list of 100. Alphabetic would make the reader's job so much easier. You could asterisk the top ten if you really think it's important for people to know what the top ten are. (I don't) What people are going to do is scan the list to see if their favorite topics is there....and it's frustratingly hard to do that.--PlanetCare 17:45, 30 September 2017 (UTC)

  • I do see your reasoning on why you want people to know how many views each topic gets. that's a good way of letting the public decide what's most important to them. So that's worth keeping, for sure. --PlanetCare 00:27, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
  • Great to have the arrows on top of the columns. I do wonder if it's necessary to have the first column at all. If we used an ** to note the "top priority" article, we could make it just a two column chart. That makes it much easier to use the chart. You sort it either by "alphabetic order" or by "number of views" Done. --PlanetCare 00:25, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
I am going to add another column now to add the Flesch readability scores. If we used your system with asterixes there would be no way of ordering the rows by priority. I think I would prefer to keep the column with numbers for now. I don't think it hurts to have it. People should try to consider working on top priority articles first, and those with a high number of views, as that would have the biggest impacts ultimately.EMsmile (talk) 13:16, 2 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I do like the idea of adding the two columns to this chart. Flesch score for Lead and for Article. However, can the column width be made more narrow? The Article title "deserves" the largest amount of space. The columns of numbers should be much closer to the width needed for the numbers. I wasn't sure how to "fix" the column headings so they would wrap better. PlanetCare 15:09, 2 October 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by PlanetCare (talkcontribs)

Ahaha......the above is saying that I put in an unsigned comment, when just before that appears my signature. Nicely, though, you can click on PlanetCare for the signature line that the bot added. Still need to figure this one out. --PlanetCare 16:10, 2 October 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by PlanetCare (talkcontribs)

We need a Lead ![edit]

I "hid" the Contents box, so people would "get to the point" faster, but what we really need is a model "lead." One that fits Wikipedia's criteria for a good lead that we can then reference later on the Meetup Page. I've added a sentence, pointing out the the lead for pit latrine is a good one. EMsmile (talk) 23:02, 2 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
(regarding signing, using the four tildes is more reliable than using that icon at the top, I think) EMsmile (talk) 23:02, 2 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Use colons for intending your answers, by the way. EMsmile (talk) 23:03, 2 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
