Unable to attend, due to specific reason[edit]

I would like to attend this, but will not be able to, as this is scheduled to occur during the Jewish Sabbath. May I please ask if future events could please be scheduled to occur on a weekday evening? or else, to start at 8:00 pm or later, if held on a Saturday?? Please note that during the spring and summer months, I could literally attend at almost any other day and time during the week, (other than late evening on a Friday). I would greatly appreciate your understanding. thanks. ---Sm8900 🌎 05:07, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @Sm8900:! Thank you for noting this important point. We originally scheduled for Sunday night, but had to change the time due to outside circumstances. All talks will be recorded and available on YouTube and Commons. Megs (talk) 17:03, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hashtag[edit]

Does Wiki NYC have a preferred hashtag for this event? Blue Rasberry (talk) 16:36, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @Bluerasberry:! This event is being streamed on Facebook and YouTube, where volunteers will be monitoring comments. It won't have a Twitter presence. Looking forward to your talk! Megs (talk) 17:03, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What a great idea[edit]

Just came to say that I think this looks great, and if more symposiums are ever virtually run, it would be great to get notified - is there a newsletter? I also like the focus on bringing editing responses and data, and the wide uses of Wikipedia, to the front. Great idea, guys. Kingsif (talk) 16:13, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much for your support, @Kingsif:! We don't have a newsletter, but all events are posted at WP:WMNYC, where you can also find a link to our mailing list, talk page announcements, etc. Megs (talk) 17:06, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Meeting ID or personal link name[edit]

Where do I get this? I got a ticket E-mail from Eventbrite which has a ticket number, and pasted that into Zoom's "Join Meeting" box, but that's not a valid ID. Where's the Zoom Meeting ID? Jim.henderson (talk) 21:33, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Schedule[edit]

It was pleasant and informative and I only got a few things wrong. However, there have been events that I discovered too late. Is there a general, worldwide schedule of open online events? Seem to me, items on such a schedule should include details such as language and what general Wikimedians or general public can expect to do. Like, only see and hear, or be seen and heard, or one or the other, or see a typed chat, or type into it. Jim.henderson (talk) 23:52, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for the video[edit]

thanks so much for posting the full video of the proceedings! I think we all benefit when resources like this are provided. thanks!! --Sm8900 (talk) 23:45, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
