TFA blurb review[edit]

Please check back at the end of the month for the May blurbs. - Dank (push to talk) 14:59, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wehwalt scheduled this for June 8, and Johnboddie did the blurb, now at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/June 8, 2020. - Dank (push to talk) 13:44, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Dank and Johnboddie, hi! I'm not sure what the procedure is for TFA (I'm new to this), but I have a suggested edit for the blurb. I think "labor activist" should be removed, and "social scientist" should be moved before "social feminist." This reflects the current article lead. Van Kleeck was a major figure in the study of American labor, but she wasn't really a labor activist, in that she was never in a union, served as a laborer, or organized workers herself. She was primarily a social scientist concerned first with women's labor, then later on the labor-management relationship. Ganesha811 (talk) 15:35, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I made another edit to the lead recently - rather than "helped to create the Women's Bureau", I changed my old wording to "led the creation of", which I think also should be changed in the TFA blurb. As she actually drafted the law that created the Bureau and served as its first director, I think the change is justified. Sorry for the trouble - let me know if there's somewhere else I should take this comment. Ganesha811 (talk) 15:37, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi and congratulations. Feel free to make the edits to the blurb directly at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/June 8, 2020; the page won't get protected until the day before. - Dank (push to talk) 15:42, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Dank, great, will do! Thanks for the guidance. Ganesha811 (talk) 16:03, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
