Legal justification[edit]
As a US Citizen, I firmly believe I have the natural right to view and share any images of my own governmental processes as they act in my name, however such images are obtained. I believe this right is enshrined in my nation's constitution and I believe this right is upheld universally. I believe Wikipedians are within their rights to use images of my legal representation in Congress in any way that "a reasonable person would see fit under the Fair Use doctrine". --HectorMoffet (talk) 18:45, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

- Hi, Hector! Oh, you probably do have the right to do just about anything with CSPAN video. And you're off to a good start. But this page is probably not a good way to go about doing what you are trying to do. It looks like you're creating the equivalent of a PD-USGov-CSPAN - like there is a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:PD-USGov-NASA and a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:PD-CAGov and PD-FLGov - which I helped create. Also, if you are going to create some sort of copyright tag for CSPAN media, it should cover video, and images, not just images. What legal claims CSPAN say about its product on its website, BTW? I don't see enough evidence yet to justify calling the stuff Public Domain. It may be, but you need to do some more work to justify that claim before making it on an official page here, especially a policy/guideline page.
