Mid-Norfolk Railway[edit]

I'm hoping that I've managed to get this to GA standard. I would aim for FA, but am not sure that this is possible at the moment. Reviews and feedback welcomed! DiverScout (talk) 10:23, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The requested tasks and suggestions have been acted on or replied to. Comparing the article to Docklands Light Railway suggests to me that it is there. Could I have verification before I "be bold"! DiverScout (talk) 15:06, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Though this is months on now, I see you haven't pressed forward with the GA process. Probably wise if you were using Docklands Light Railway as a basis, as it has recently been stripped of its GA status, and incidentally overhauled from 35 to 95 references, along with other improvements. It was not a good example of a GA. Best to take something that has recently conformed to the new higher GA standards, such as the Eurostar article (self promotion I know, but relivant and useful). I'll take a closer look at the article, but I like what I've seen so far.Kyteto (talk) 13:56, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's a bit of a challenge comparing non-comparable operations (as no heritage railway article seems to have attained GA), and the moving goalposts don't help! :) I've just decided to continue to develop the article according to what I feel is a good standard and, especially as there seems minimal interest in reviewing it as GA, not worry too much about trying to get it assessed. One day it will happen, or it won't! DiverScout (talk) 11:43, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you want an assessment of my own perspective, I would recommend increasing references from the media, newspapers and magazines. I've already used Google Newsearch to pull in a few, punch in the right keywords and you can draw out more references from this valuable perspective. It is a method of getting considered outsider opinions that reflect notability outside of the Railway community and into the mainstream, not that there is anything wrong with the generous array of compliments from the former. I think it is close to GA standard, I'll continue doing some edits, such as to the paragraphing structure throughout, most likely the GA reviewer won't like one sentence paragraphs.Kyteto (talk) 21:00, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers, and much appreciated. Once it has GA and I understand what such an article should look like I'm planning to try to work on a few other lines in a similar way. DiverScout (talk) 23:12, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
