I've listed this article for peer review because I would like it to become a FL, and I belive there is room for improvement

. Ruhrfisch comments: Thanks for your work on this article - I have actually seen some of these episodes, and here are some suggestions for improvement.
- A model article is useful for ideas and examples to follow. Homicide: Life on the Street (season 1) is a very recent FA on the first season of a long running TV show and seems like it would be a good model for this article.
- External link checker on this PR page finds one dead link.
- I was a bit surprised that the fact that the first episode's ratings were so high because it followed the Superbowl was not mentioned in the lead.
- Still no mention of the Superbowl in the lead that I can see
- I am not sure that the region relesae dates of the DVDs for the season need to all be in the lead - seems too detailed to me.

- I thought that the Production, Reception and DVD release sections were pretty short - one of the FA criteria is comprehensiveness and shortness is sometimes a sign that the article lacks comprehensiveness
- Here are three things I expected to see in the article but did not. There is no background / conception / creation section. I know this is in the overall Family Guy article, but think at least some of that material should be in here too. I also know that the cast changed early on (I think after season one) with a new actress voicing Meg - this should be mentioned here if it was the original actress' last season. I was also surprised that there was no mention of the decision to renew the show for a second season.
- There seems to be very little (if any) critical commentary from the season itself. Again to be comprehensive, I think the article needs contemporary critical comments.
- I see now that the goal is FL status - there are many FLs on tv seasons at Wikipedia:FL#Media. Some are much shorter than this - see The Simpsons (season 1) - while others are comparable or longer - see 30 Rock (season 1). I still think a few sentences on the conception / creation would help and also think the critical commentary should include more from the print sources when the episodes aired. A show premiering after the Super Bowl will have reviews. I also wonder about comparison to another animated show about a dysfunctional family on FOX.
- Language is fairly good, but a copyedit would help.

Okay I think my remodoling of the artical may fix alot of the problems. But the issue with the reception is that at that time there really isn't reviews execpt the ones we have already. Pedro J. the rookie 00:48, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

- The review you found was originally published in Entertainment Weekly (and is now available on its website EW.com) and is from a reliable source. The New York Times has had several articles on Family Guy over the years - see here - this includes a review from 1999 and stories about advertisers dropping the show because of protests the first season.
