The WikiGap Zambia 2024 will a collaborative effort by Wikimedia Community Zambia. This will be a four-day event aimed at addressing the gender information gap by enhancing Wikipedia articles related to women, gender, feminism, and the arts. We'll provide food, coffee, and a supportive environment. This initiative is inspired by the Swedish Feminist Foreign Policy and has been successfully executed in various countries worldwide. The primary goal is to provide a platform for our invited guests to create new Wikipedia articles and improve existing ones, thereby increasing the representation of women on this online encyclopedia.
The day's schedule includes a morning session featuring inspiring speeches by prominent Zambians who have been previously featured. This will be followed by a writing exercise and, in the afternoon, a reception where guests and media representatives can connect and collaborate.

In 2020, the ArtAndFeminism movement made its debut in Zambia, marking a significant milestone. This groundbreaking event took place at the University of Zambia's Great East Road Campus, demonstrating the nation's commitment to promoting gender equality and women's participation in the arts. The following year, in 2021, the movement continued to gain momentum with the ArtAndFeminism - Wiki Gap Zambia event. This event was held at the Embassy of Sweden in Lusaka, showcasing the collaboration between Zambia and Sweden in bridging gender gaps within the realm of knowledge sharing and representation. In 2022, the commitment to ArtAndFeminism was further demonstrated with the ArtAndFeminism - Wiki Gap Zambia Meetup. Once again, the event took place at the Embassy of Sweden in Lusaka, reinforcing the dedication of both nations to fostering inclusivity and diversity in the arts and information dissemination.
However, in 2023, there was a brief pause in the ArtAndFeminism activities in Zambia, but this hiatus was merely a momentary lull in the movement. The year 2024 marked the triumphant return of ArtAndFeminism in Zambia with the eagerly awaited ArtAndFeminism - Wiki Gap Zambia event. This revival highlighted the enduring commitment of Zambia to empower women in the arts and provide them with a platform for their voices and stories to be heard.
The history of ArtAndFeminism in Zambia showcases a journey of continuous growth and progress, emphasizing the nation's dedication to promoting gender equality, knowledge sharing, and representation in the arts.
