On March 12th, 2014, the University of Michigan student chapter of the Society of American Archivists collaborated with the Bentley Historical Library to host the UM-SAA Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon. The event ran from 5pm to 8pm. Editors new and old were welcome to attend!

Agenda[edit]

The edit-a-thon at the Bentley Historical Library had three primary purposes: 1) to celebrate Women's History Month by improving the visibility of several women from the *Women in Politics research guide through the collaboration of University of Michigan School of Information students and Bentley staff, 2) to help new editors learn the basics of Wikipedia editing and to 3) unite interested students and archivists with the rich material available at the Bentley Historical Library. The event was promoted by the Society of American Archivists student chapter and Bentley staff in the weeks lead. A list of women was generated, and in the end, women's rights activist Jan BenDor was chosen as the final subject. The event was live tweeted.
