I would say not, the author was Harald Damsleth and therefore can't be claimed under CC2.0. The author also died in 1971 therefore the image unfortunately doesn't qualify for {{PD-Art}} as time has not exceeded life of the author plus 70 years, even as a 'faithful photographic reproduction of a two-dimensional, public domain work of art'. My request is to make this more like a plain rectangular shoot. I think skewed it the word: it looks distorted, could be because of its background. upload check; possible problem & crop & orientation bulk-request[edit]

User:Lx 121,Comité des Étudiants Américains de l'École des Beaux-Arts Paris, Kreisker chapel , & various others...
Request
hello;

when i tried to view them full-sized, my last 6 uploads (as seen on my user-page) all came up as image errors, even though the thumbnails & reduced-size views on the filepage work fine. could somebody please check this, & see if/what the problem is? my older uploads all seem to work full-sized just fine, have not tested extensively beyond that.

ALSO: many of the images i've uploaded could use re-orienting & cropping. i'm in the midst of uploading a fairy large collection of wwi-era postcard art (mostly original work, not printed matter). the first few items have been done, mostly by User:Centpacrr; since then, i've managed to accumulate a fair backlog of materials, with (lots) more coming. don't want to keep uploading until the full-sized view problem is sorted out, though.

if anyone is interested, they are welcome to just "watch" my page, & do the edit-work on new uploads when they turn up; would save a lot of time on repeat-request-writing.

as a guide, please follow cropping-style of the edits by User:Centpacrr, WITH edges visible. i want to keep the sense of these postcards & other items a discrete objects, not just for the images they contain. feel free to do an "edge-less" crop (or other) as you like, if you feel so-inspired, just please upload them as new files?

aside from my user-page & general archival purposes (most of these are original & unique artworks, not previously digitised/documented online; & not eligible for upload @ wmc, due to their dual-jurisdiction copyright rule), many of the items have/will-have potential uses on a number of articles. i have a number of placements in mind already, once the material is articlespace-ready.

thank-you in advance. -- Lx 121 (talk) 06:25, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What browser are you using? Many browsers don't handle .tif files very well. If you're using Chrome or Firefox, you may need to download a plugin to provide in-browser support for .tif images. MjolnirPants Tell me all about it. 12:29, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

On another note, would you like me to clean up the last image (File:Montgomery Shoshone Mill, Rhyolite, Nev. 3-panel paronamic view.tif) and remove the fold lines? MjolnirPants Tell me all about it. 12:33, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hey; i'm sorry! i should have been clearer. i meant my uploads here@WIKIPEDIA(en) & you can find the relevant images on my userpage here. the problems are with the last 6 uploads on here, all of which are .jpgs, & are behaving as described above, for me at least. i'm not aware of any difficulties with my stuff @ commons. these are files i uploaded @ wp instead, because while they are certainly pd in the usa, they may not clear the dual-jurisdiction copyright requirement @ commons. WWI-era stuff doesn't always "clear" EU (& other) copyrights.
as regards the town panorama @ commons, no thank-you; i believe there is already a "seamless" version of the image in our database (although it may not be of the same resolution; if you want to upgrade that one, feel free). that file goes back to a discussion several years ago, & i wanted a non-edited version of it, specifically. Lx 121 (talk) 13:35, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I checked your WP uploads, and everything listed on your user page displays just fine. I even downloaded and inspected the last two just to see if there was anything funky about them, and found nothing. I think it may be your computer or browser which is causing the problem (which could be explained by the large size of the images). Those are beautiful uploads, by the way. I wish more people knew how to turn up the resolution and establish some scale on such scans. MjolnirPants Tell me all about it. 14:25, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
thank-you; good to know that the uploads aren't garbaged, & i'm glad you like them! sorry to leave you (guys) with the editing; it's not my skill, or (present) area of focus/time/effort @ wiki, & worse yet my computer is grindingly slow. the cpu, ram, & right now even storage capacity isn't up to the job. right now it takes more than 5 minutes just to scan 1 side of 1 postcard @ the settings i use (12,800 dpi hardware resolution, with MUCH compression afterwards); longer for bigger items... i appreciate the edits you've made on the "smoking" postcard; that's exactly how i wanted it to come out. you are more than welcome to do any/all of the other cards, if/as you like. or any other "takers"; as i said, there is lots "more-to-come"... xD Lx 121 (talk) 09:10, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
just to update you, i've (finally) written the article for Comité des Étudiants Américains de l'École des Beaux-Arts Paris ‎ ; have added the card-back you edited (thank-you!), could use the rest of the relevant cards for a gallery there, anytime you can get to them. could also place at least some of the cards on the articles about those locations. Lx 121 (talk) 09:38, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello; was wondering/hoping i could get some more of the postcards finished? the "comite" cards are the top priority; i already have them up on the article in their "rough" form, & can re-use several of them on the articles about the locations shown. Lx 121 (talk) 10:53, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
