**Original** – The Japanese Sega Mega Drive video game console. This is the first design model of the system.

**Original** – A North American Sega Genesis video game console with 6-button controller. The Sega Genesis is a 16-bit, fourth generation game console that was first released in 1988. This is the second remodel of the console and is shown with a 6-button that was released later in the console's life.

Reason: Lead images in a featured article, high technical quality, popular system. I could start reminiscing, but nobody cares about how I traded my first place prize (a boombox) for a second place prize (a Genesis) back in second/third grade.

Support. This guy has done some fantastic console product photography. I actually read an article about him and his work on Wikipedia a while back. - I suspect he's just tied up the extraneous cable behind the controller to make it visually neater. You can see that the cable doesn't align perfectly on either side the controller. Could just be a kink though. Ðiliff «» (Talk) 21:01, 17 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

- How they display at thumbnail size. Wikipedia and Commons' PNG thumbnail displays are broken, which is why templates such as Template:Compressed version exist. Once the image is on a user's computer there should be no difference, which is why PNGs (which do not lose detail as they are resaved) are preferred for reuse. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 13:26, 20 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
