Image tagging for Image:Vagif Mustafazade.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Vagif Mustafazade.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Zondy, there are two problems with the article: copyright and the wrong tone.

If the original author is agree to release the article under GFDL license (that means not only that the article can be seen on Wikipedia but also that anybody can edit it the way he or she wants and publish anywhere for free or for money. The only thing the author can expect that his work will be acknowledged. The most fool-proof way to prove that it the original author agree to GFDL is to make him put the GFDL notice on the original website, if it is impossible I guess if you can paste his email on the talk page there he explains that he is the author and owns the copyright (often the copyright belongs to the website who ordered the article) and that he is agree to the GFDL license, then I believe it will be OK.

The other problem is that article is written in the wrong tone. It is very good as an authored piece but not represents an objective encyclopedic article, there all facts are represented as facts and referenced and all the opinions are attributed. And yes, the article should be written from the third person: it is a collective work of many editors not the authored piece by Vagif Mustafazade. I guess after the article will be re-written the copyright question will be solved already: it will be sufficiently different from the original text anyway. Please read WP:NPOV about the neutrality and WP:MOS about all the style requirements. You may want to contact User:Grandmaster he is a very helpful and knowledgeable editor strongly interesting in Azeri affairs. I think he resides in Baku. Welcome to Wikipedia![edit]

Dear Zondi: Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Wikipedians try to follow a strict policy of never biting new users. If you are unsure of how to do something, you are welcome to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator. One last bit of advice: please sign any discussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD! Ksbrowntalk 11:05, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Starting a Talk page[edit]

{{helpme}}

My question: When I start a Talk page for a certain article, will other users be notified of its creation so that we can resolve our disputes? I am referring to this page:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azerbaijan_International

User Rmky87 keeps dumping the text, even though there is nothing wrong with it. THanks!

Any user who has the page on their watchlist will be notified that the talk page has been created/changed. If a user isn't watching the page, they'll only know by seeing whether the discussion tab is blue or red. It can help to put 'see talk' in your edit summaries on the article if you're trying to resolve a dispute using the Talk page. I hope that helps; feel free to place {{helpme}} back up here (on your talk page; the welcome template you were given has a typo in that regard) if you have any further questions. --ais523 09:30, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Salatyn Asgarova[edit]

An editor has nominated Salatyn Asgarova, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Salatyn Asgarova and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Unspecified source for Image:Sarhat.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sarhat.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:15, 11 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Spike Wilbury 18:15, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome![edit]

The more the merrier. Here's my take on stub tags, fwiw: It's much tidier to use as few stub templates as possible on an article. For example, on one article recently, you used {{Italy-bio-stub}}, {{Astronomer-stub}} and {{Mathematician-stub}}. It would help if you used {{Italy-scientist-stub}} and assigned categories for the other two area, i.e. Category:Italian astronomers and Category:Italian mathematicians. The more specific the category and stub tag, the better, in the interests of making less work for people who categorize or sort further down the hierarchy.

Also, there's a nice trick you can use to sort items properly; use {{DEFAULTSORT:Lastname, Firstname}} or {{DEFAULTSORT:Noun, Article}} to force an item to sort by the person's last name ({{DEFAULTSORT:Asimov, Isaac}}) or without the indefinite article ({{DEFAULTSORT:Divine Comedy, The}}). You only have to use it once on an article and it will apply to regular categories as well as stub categories.

Pardon the lecture; I'm a librarian and this is my thing. <g> Cheers! Her Pegship (tis herself) 20:00, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Candidate for Deletion[edit]

Hi WJBscribe! Could you please take a look at Hollywood Zombies. Looks like product promotion to me. I placed PROD tag, but some anon removed it. I am still in the learning stage, so I could be wrong. Thank you. Zondi 00:41, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for following up. So looks like I understood the deletion policy right:) Welcome back. Zondi 18:55, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict) Yeah it probably is - its a borderline speedy deletion for blatant advertisement (see: CSD G11) but its written fairly neutrally so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. I've nominated it for standard deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hollywood Zombies. One way or another without more assertion of notability and some sources it needs to be deleted. Don't hesitate to get in touch if you have more questions in future. WjBscribe 18:56, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Judicial system in presidency towns before 1726[edit]

Hi. I was sorting stubs and don't know what to do with Judicial system in presidency towns before 1726. What would be the most appropriate tag for this article? It's poorly written. Thanks! Zondi 03:03, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wow - that looks random. There isn't an article there at the moment is there? No reason to think 1726 is a significant cut-off so seems original research and no real way to know how to expand it. Unless you're seeing seeing something I'm not I'd tag it with {{prod}} - doesn't look salvageable. WjBscribe 03:06, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see how this page can be improved either:) So I'll go ahead and place the PROD tag. In the meantime, I went to Hollywood Zombies website [3], clicked Media -> Zombie News, and looks like some publications did write about the series. Does that mean it's okay to keep the page now? Tx! Zondi 03:35, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well it can't hurt for it stay on AfD for consideration - but yes I suspect it will be kept. You may want to alter your opinion or link those wishing to keep it to those publications so they can expand/source the article (or you can do that yourself). WjBscribe 03:39, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Alish Lambaranski[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Alish Lambaranski, by VartanM (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Alish Lambaranski seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Alish Lambaranski, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Nina Fisheva, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. I would like to request permission to use the image found on Wikipedia in an educational capacity. Specifically we request to use the image in an online educational exhibition entitled, Azerbaijan Artifacts, which presents information about coins, stamps, rug, architecture, and other artifacts related to Azerbaijan. In addition we would like permission to use the images in publicity related to the exhibition, on www.KarabakhFoundation.org, and eventually perhaps in a physical exhibition.

I am interested in using the image of Mirvarid Dilbazi. This image would perfectly help us convey the importance Azerbaijani women. If this is acceptable, please let me know how to properly cite (by name, include website also, etc). If possible, I would also appreciate if you could send me high resolution copy of the image.
