The Jetsons[edit]

Hi, I wanted to say that it's not appropriate to create a film article right now about The Jetsons because it is still way too early in the development process to determine if this film will be made. There are a lot of projects that are announced but don't get actively pursued for sometime -- this is called being stuck in development hell. Let me know if you have any questions, and I'll be happy to answer them. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 22:36, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the attached director is not certain to direct this film or Land of the Lost. This kind of uncertainty is a violation of Wikipedia's crystal ball policy. Also, Wikipedia should not mention rumors, because they are inherently unverifiable. What you can do, though, is create a "Film adaptation" section on The Jetsons. This is usually done for projects that are not certain to be produced. Take a look at Knight Rider#Film adaptation and Logan's Run#Remake for a couple of examples. I'd like to merge and redirect the content similarly, and when there is enough information to show that a film will be produced instead of lingering in development hell, we can recreate the article. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 23:43, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I added the Future film banner that you requested. It's somewhat complicated to explain the nature of the film industry. Indiana Jones 4 wasn't just hindered because of a lack of ideas. Usually, projects get stuck in development hell when there are script problems, budget problems, casting problems, et cetera. I know because I keep an eye on future films myself -- check out User:Erik/Future articles. These are all headlines on my userpage so I can go ahead and create a film article when it appears to actually be in production. For example, I just created John Hancock today because it's currently filming. The problem with The Jetsons is that it's still too early to tell if the film will be made or not. That's why I suggest creating a section at The Jetsons because The Jetsons (film) could be a very small article stub for a long time, maybe even 18 years like Indiana Jones 4. What you can do is create a section at The Jetsons to put what little information about the film is available. I can do it for you if you want, and I can help you understand how Wikipedia works. Last of all, rumors are generally not accepted because basically, anyone can make up a rumor to be added. For example, people keep adding that Elisha Cuthbert and Mandy Moore are possibilities to replace Kirsten Dunst as Mary-Jane Watson for the fourth film. We need sources that meet Wikipedia's attribution standards. For example, if someone's personal movie blog reported the rumor, it wouldn't be verifiable. But if The New York Times reported some casting information, that would be reliable. Hope you understand! Any questions, let me know. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 00:03, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't see what you said until after I wrote my comment. Yes, we can be friends. I'll be glad to help you out with Wikipedia. I usually work with future film articles, as you can see on my user page. There is a bit to learn, if you have the patience. Do you have any favorite films whose articles you can work on? You could also try editing your own user page to understand how to format things, like sections and wiki-links. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 00:26, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would have to say that Fight Club is one of my favorite movies on which I have worked -- check it out, it's a pretty long article with a lot of references. I'm looking forward to seeing Ratatouille (film), Transformers (film), 30 Days of Night (film), I Am Legend (film), The Invasion (film), and Wanted (film). I'm kind of a science fiction junkie. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 00:56, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, Citizen Kane? Are you sure? I hope you're not trying to impress... I like the movie myself, but I don't consider it a favorite. Some of my favorite movies are as follows: American History X, Band of Brothers, Casablanca, City of God, The Constant Gardener, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Garden State, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, The Matrix, Memento, Office Space, Saving Private Ryan, Schindler's List, Snatch, and Waking Life. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 13:18, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm 21 myself. By the way, I've redirected The Jetsons (film) to a film adaptation section on the main Jetsons article. If there is sign of actual production of the film -- Rodriguez will need to choose what to do next -- then we can recreate the article. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 02:53, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Mini Munsters[edit]

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article The Mini Munsters, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Apollo "Hoax"[edit]

I saw your message on the Apollo Moon Landing hoax accusations Talk page and I am writing to tell you that you have nothing to worry about, the moon landings unquestionably happened as Nasa claimed. Those making the accusations tend to be motivated by profit, revenge (against the US govt) or plain anti-Americanism. A good resource to check out is the Clavius site (it is run by an Aerospace Engineer) as well as Bad Astronomy site.

I've replied on your talk page because the talk pages for articles are supposed to be used to discussing changes to the article and not the subject itself. If you have any questions about any aspect of the "hoax" you can ask me on my talk page, or alternatively, you could post at the forums at the aforementioned websites. I hope that helps. The Munsters[edit]

Hey, how are you doing these days? I'd like to help you directly in regard to The Munsters (film), but I'm busy packing to move out of my apartment tonight. Basically, what you should do is make sure that all the relevant prose from The Munsters (film) is at The Munsters (it should all fit in that one bullet that exists), and make [[The Munsters (film) into a redirect by removing all the content and replacing it with #REDIRECT [[The Munsters#Films]] (see WP:REDIRECT for details). —Erik (talkcontrib) - 01:59, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I noticed that you signed up to be a member of WikiProject Films -- welcome! :) I've added the WikiProject Films userbox to your user page, and I've also placed all your userboxes into a neater table. Hope you don't mind! —Erik (talkcontrib) - 02:05, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I was in New Jersey for the summer for an IT internship, now I'm headed back to the Midwest for my senior year at college. I'll be going home to hang out with friends before I go back to school, though. How have you been spending your summer? (Also, just a tip, you should add a new comment on my talk page by finding your first discussion "Merging The Munsters", clicking edit there, then adding a new comment at the bottom of it. That way, you don't have to start a new section.) What classic films did you watch? —Erik (talkcontrib) - 03:07, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That is great. I have been spending my summer fine in Michigan, not too hot or too cold. I watched Vertigo (film) with James Stewart (actor), Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?, starring Joan Crawford and Bette Davis. Anastasia (1956 film) with Ingrid Bergman and Yul Brynner and Touch of Evil starring Charlton Heston and Janet Leigh of Psycho (1960 film) fame. And featuring Orson Welles as actor and director. Very good movie but does not match up to Welle's previous films like Citizen Kane and Lady from Shanghai. My parents can not seem to fathom a 14 year old's obsession with old movies. Most kids in my school don't have the ability to watch a black-and-white movie. I think black-and-white makes movies have a nostalgic feel. By, the way, what classic movies have you watched and which were your favorites and why? I don't mind the box, it makes my page look neater! Thanks! Yoda317 23:32, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to WP:FG[edit]

Thanks for joining Wikipedia:WikiProject Family Guy! If you haven't already, please add Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Family Guy to your watchlist so you can participate in talk page conversations. We could use a few volunteers for some tasks, tho participation on that level is not strictly required.

You are encouraged to add our userbox to your User page: {{User WikiProject Family Guy}}

Current special projects
  • Family Guy Reference Desk (WP:FGdesk) – this proposed project that needs a few more members to get going. This goal is to engineer a team of evil monkeys who answer "forum" questions about Family Guy, either at the Reference Desk, at Wikipedia:Reference desk/Entertainment, or by moving questions mistakenly asked on article Talk pages. If the monkeys don't work out, we'd have volunteer editors handle this, but tell everyone outside the WikiProject it's monkeys.

Again, thanks for your interest. We hope you will enjoy it here. / edg 06:34, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
