Hello YoEmFuji! You indicated you were a bit perplexed about why your article Brain vital signs is being considered for deletion, so I wanted to reach out to you. We really try to summarize topics in a neutral manner, being careful not to overemphasize thing or puff something up like is often done in news reports. And when it comes to medical content, we try not to cite primary studies, instead we try to summarize what secondary medical sources such as reviews and textbooks have to say. Writing and sourcing in this manner does take some time getting used to, but do not worry, you'll get the hang of it. Thank you for the insight. I am happy to edit the write-up but sadly, controlling editors have decided to shut it down and delete instead. I think it's unfair that I did not get a chance to edit and instead I feel like I am being censored in this supposedly democratic space. It would be great if expert wiki editor(s) suggested edits or ways of improvement rather than just delete but it seems some enjoy the power? Are you a paid editor with a conflict of interest?

Hello YoEmFuji. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

No, I am not a paid anything. I am a neuroscience student just entering the field and reading up on local neuroscience news especially based in BC. I am looking at project topics and looking for companies to do case studies so using wiki to start generating content. I am not well versed in the Wikiverse since I don't live and troll on net as some do, which is why I asked on the talking page of the deletion discussion how I can improve an entry, especially since I've tried to do my homework and research by sourcing news articles. I am quite alarmed by the hostile nature of your commentary. Rather than attacking me for submitting a few entries, how about suggesting ways I can improve or write a better wiki entry? Isn't this a place to provide information for learning/resource? Instead, it seems like a place to get trolled/shut down. YoEmFuji (talk) 22:19, 20 August 2019 (UTC)
