Request on 05:38:46, 5 February 2022 for assistance on AfC submission by Revirvlkodlaku

Hello, I am writing because my draft submission (Janie Bay) was rejected. Your comment was that reverbnation isn't a reliable source. There are 18 references in the draft submission. Sure, some of them are from reverbnation, a few are primary, but the majority are credible secondary sources, so I feel like the submission should have been accepted. Janie Bay is an award-winning, well-know singer in SA, and some of her music can even be heard on North American radio (the single "Dance", for example). There is nothing obscure about her as an artist, and I think she more than passes notability criteria. Please reconsider the submission, as I believe you have made an error. Thank you. Revirvlkodlaku Yes, she does appear to be notable however interviews and bio links (reverb nation) are considered primary sources. Once those are fixed and you resubmit I’m willing to accept. Xclusivzik (talk) 15:31, 6 February 2022 (UTC)
Xclusivzik, thanks for responding. I just want to be clear on your requirements: are you saying that once the reverbnation references have been removed, you will accept the submission? Thank you. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 15:52, 6 February 2022 (UTC)
…Interviews as well. Xclusivzik (talk) 16:03, 6 February 2022 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Kamo Mphela requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://za.opera.news/za/en/entertainment/052e3dc5ec9275475c0d71cdc978bed5, https://stylishf9.com/kamo-mphela-the-last-look-and-unique-appearance/, and http://pancocojams.blogspot.com/2021/05/south-african-dancersinger-kamo-mphela.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Information icon Hello. I wanted to let you know that in your recent contributions, you seemed to act as if you were the owner of a page. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to Wikipedia. This means that editors do not own articles, including ones they create, and should respect the work of their fellow contributors. If you create or edit an article, remember that others are free to change its content. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. I've noticed that not all or half but a bulk of yours created pages violates the copyrights, a cleanup is required. And you find it hard to allow edits from other users whereas you revert edits without sources backing your specifications. Neoinsession (talk) 04:42, 14 February 2022 (UTC)

Neoinsession, Hi… interesting. You’re right to say everyone is free to edit articles however users should do so while adhering to Wikipedia policies and guidelines however if one sees that those guidelines are not followed then one has to revert edits and warn users otherwise the project itself would be disrupted. It has nothing to do with “ownership of articles”. Xclusivzik (talk) 21:35, 19 February 2022 (UTC)

Hi, back again seeking aid. I see you've placed a {{Peacock}} (and Notability & Unreliable sources like on any other article I have produced so far) on Judy Jay, I was wondering if you could help with cleaning the article to maintain stability. Thank you in advance. Neoinsession (talk) 21:46, 19 February 2022 (UTC)

Neoinsession per our previous discussion here. You’re still citing unreliable sources. The Judy Jay article you created was already moved to draft here. Please submit your articles through AfC and do listen to other editors when given feedback or warnings specifically regarding your article creations. I’m sure you wouldn’t want to be *blocked* for being non compliant. Xclusivzik (talk) 22:32, 19 February 2022 (UTC)

@Xclusivzik: thank you mate, I'll refrain from producing articles for now. Neoinsession (talk) 22:46, 19 February 2022 (UTC)

Neoinsession just to be clear I didn’t say you must refrain from creating articles. Just start by creating draft articles for now and submit them through WP:AfC. Once you feel you’re ready and your articles are top notch, you can create them directly in the namespace. Xclusivzik (talk) 08:31, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
