I find this page acceptable and it should not be deleted IMO. Unlike entries in the wikipedia itself, users' personal pages are supposed to be about their expressing their likes and dislikes, which is all she has done here. -Meltingpot

P.S. I can't input tildes as I'm in Linux and haven't loaded the appropriate keyboard. Sorry.

Elvis Presley[edit]

I recquire some assistance in the Elvis Presley article. Two NPOV-unfriendly users ( Ted Wilkes and Hoary ) keep deleting the mentioning of Elvis dying on the toilet. Since you've edited the "toilet-injury" article, I just wanted to enquire whether you might assist me in my struggle against them :-) (129.241.134.241 15:21, 31 October 2005 (UTC))[reply]

Sure :D

Thanks, man!!!!!!!!! You rock! (129.241.134.241 22:42, 31 October 2005 (UTC))[reply]

p.s: is a simple lyric website good enough as a link u think? -max rspct

Hey, that's OK :) I'da thought so, yeah :) XYaAsehShalomX 14:48, 9 December 2005 (UTC) I don't know anything about Yoruba, but yeah I like that kinda stuff. What is it, basically an african kind of catholicism? XYaAsehShalomX[reply]

It basically comes via the same route as Voodoo. Over the years slaves in carribean and americas fuse catholicism with the old african gods such as Shango. White colonial christians try and convert the slaves by using saint imagery to represent the african gods eg: Shango represented by Barbara. Check the spiritualism links on my userpage....fascinating stuff.. i originally came across Shango yonks ago in a 2000AD comicstrip. Anyway I thought a jewish princess like you picking too many religious subjects would know about these things(!) - max rspct 15:08, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Vorster iz on de National Curriculum? U big up ETB? No keep your friend away from Madonna.. Don't join her band.. gggrrrr The closest I get is a brush with Paganism... but even that can seem hilarious -max rspct 15:45, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Idolatry[edit]

Hi Rach - you've been using the NPOV template without any comments on the talk page.. - "Eastern religious and idolatry" - I recommend you add the discussion before adding the NPOV tag first.. (20040302 15:29, 12 December 2005 (UTC))[reply]

new collaboration project[edit]

You'd you be interested in participating in a new Collaboration project that aims at translating good and featured articles in the French Wikipedia to English (much like the Spanish Translation of the Week)? Idolatry -- RSVP[edit]

Hey there Rach - just wondering about a response to our discussion over at idolatry - I am open to reconciliation, but I'm not going to be brow-beaten over these things: What we both wish for is very simliar, yet we both appear to have distinct ideas about the facts - I value your opinion. Hi there, you added a non NPOV tag to the Boeremag article. I've now edited out the POV issues and would appreciate it if you can have a look and remove the tag if you think it appropriate. (I think it's improper for me to remove the tag as I've edited the article...) Thanks, ... Mikkerpikker ... 15:41, 19 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Young Patriots[edit]

I saw your Young Patriots (Côte d'Ivoire), Islamic Inquilab Mahaz, and the 2002 Soweto bombings. If you're interested, I recently created Young Patriots, 2006 Osama bin Laden tape, Alliance of Revolutionary Forces of West Sudan, Abdelwahit About, and I've been working on pages related to the current Chad-Sudan conflict. Please improve them in any way you see fit. KI 20:04, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Would you mind if I moved the Young Patriots page to Congrès Panafricaine des Jeunes Patriotes? If not, please redirect it to the current title. KI 17:39, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rammstein and Metallica good... Hip hop bad, how can you like both!! O_o just messing, doesn't matter really

Kabbalah is defininitely a cult I agree. what do you think of the church of Scientology? they are pretty similar and also a well-rooted organization in the United Kingdom.. unfortunately

seems we share quite a few interests like environmentalism, anti-racist, liberal, equal rights, anti gun banning and thinking american english is well, stupid; hope things are fun near lundinium and looking back at the edit history of 2006 Osama bin Laden tape I realize I deleted some of your edits as well as the conspiracy site spamming, sorry about that as you seem a good person unlike some around here ;0 enjoy uni I myself hope to go too, I'm 19 (as of jan 16th) but I redid y11. --Mistress Selina Kyle (Α⇔Ω ¦ ⇒✉) 16:07, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Arms in Rwanda[edit]

Check this:
The London-based humanitarian organization, Oxfam, criticized South Africa in 1992 for having sold automatic rifles, machine guns, grenade launchers, and ammunition to war-torn Rwanda. Military sales to Rwanda continued in the mid-1990s, even after that country's genocidal outbreak of violence in 1994.

DYK[edit]

Updated DYK query Did you know? has been updated. A fact from the article Old Price Riots, which you recently created, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Idolatry - editorial changes[edit]

Hi there - hope all is well. In light of our discussion (sorry for the delay) I removed the 'offending' paragragh under eastern religions, and replaced it with the copy below. I actually wrote a huge amount on the talk page, but my browser crashed before I could save it (eep). I'm pretty sure, in light of our common views, and in light of the discussion that the following will not be perceived in the same negative bias as the earlier text. As I previously stated, my original purpose was to point out to non Abrahamics that there is little point in defending one's faith against the accusation. I feel the revised text addresses that more clearly, and more directly. Thank-you for taking the time to discuss it with me. (20040302 12:40, 10 February 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Although there are many different interpretations of the term 'idolatry', it is essentially a term that belongs to the Abrahamic faiths (see etymology above), where the issue of idolatry is especially central to their ethics (see the 3rd Noahide Law, etc) as something that is prohibited.

As a rule, any interpretation of the term by the non-Abrahamic religious who feel that they have been subjected to the label of 'idolatry' will not effectively represent the reasons why they have been labelled as such.

Moreover, defending their activities based upon the existence of graven images, pictures or other aspects of their worship will not affect their status as idolators by those who accuse them of idolatry.

Many modern Abrahamics reject any views of idolatry addressed against the main religions of the world and feel a great sense of kinship with other world religions even though history has sometimes characterised a very different attitude.

Crossing flags[edit]

Please do not cross flags on your user page. This may offend others and is even considered a crime in many countries. I am sure you are able to express your valuable opinion in a respectful way. Pourrais-tu m'aider ?
