Welcome back[edit]

I'm so pleased to hear that your health has improved. If you need any help or have any queries, let me know. --Anthonyhcole (talk · contribs · email) 17:46, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you @Anthonyhcole:. I'm afraid for the past week I have been sick again but I hope to be on the rebound for now. I am wondering if you could help me understand why Jimmy Wales does not seem willing to talk about the participatory grantmaking controversy. - WilmingMa (talk) 13:04, 25 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry to hear that, WilmingMa. I've been through a pretty rough four months but seem to have come good just recently. I do find engaging with this supportive and loving community a mood-lifter, and particularly enjoy torturing admins and other busybodies. I can't recommend it highly enough for those difficult days - to take your mind off things.
Regarding Jimmy, he's a very busy person, so unfortunately doesn't have a lot of time to devote to trivia like his foundation boosting the theories of consultants who say nice things about Wikipedia. He likens himself to the Dalai Lama, I think, but not in the sense of spiritual leader, more like a spiritual spokesperson, channelling the thoughts and dreams of our loving community. I prefer the gigantic bloated cane toad standing in the doorway and blocking the hall metaphor, but both are probably equally accurate in their own way.
Do ping me - perhaps we can torture some admins together. Stay well. With loving kindness, Anthonyhcole (talk · contribs · email) 13:29, 25 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I hope Greg takes on board the valid criticisms here. There are some. Some commentators there are, though, overlooking or minimising his valid criticisms of the Wikipedia article and the WMF blog which resulted in the deletion of the former and significant modification of the latter. Regarding your question, "What would you suggest Kohs do, in order to regain access to the Foundation's communications channels? Grovel? Apologize for past misdeeds?" I don't know. His critique is sometimes gratuitously intrusive and cruel, and feelings matter. A lot. We ignore them at our peril. A genuine appreciation of that fact, reflected in his writing going forward, wouldn't hurt the situation. Anthonyhcole (talk · contribs · email) 04:38, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
