Speedy deletion nomination of Sugarboy (musician)[edit]

Sugarboy[edit]
Firstly, the article as written wasn't showing adequate reliable source coverage about him — it was showing mostly entertainment blogs and primary sources, not legitimate media coverage that counts toward establishing notability. Goldmyne.tv, for example, is not a reliable source, and lailasblog is not a reliable source, and on and so forth. And it doesn't help to add different sources that weren't in the article at the time on my talk page after the fact, either — if those are reliable sources that help to properly establish notability, then they have to be present in the article. Secondly, User:Oluwa2Chainz, the editor who flagged it to be deleted in the first place, is quite literally one of Wikipedia's foremost experts on Nigerian sources. So if he says the sourcing in a Nigeria-related article doesn't cut it, then I'm inclined to trust his judgement over that of a brand new editor creating their very first article. And thirdly, I'll admit that the tone of the article wasn't egregious, but it did have some overtones of being a public relations profile rather than an encyclopedia article. It didn't, for instance, claim anything about him that would constitute a clear pass of our notability standards for musicians — a person has to do quite a bit more than just exist to pass that test, but the article really wasn't showing or saying anything that would be clearly enough.
At any rate, once an article has been deleted once at WP:AFD, any new attempt at recreating another article about the same topic has to be significantly better than the first one was. It doesn't matter that you're not the same person who tried to create it the first two times — it only matters that the article didn't show much evidence of an improved notability claim or better sourcing for it.
I'm willing to restore the article back to draftspace for you so that you can work on it some more, but it's not ready to be considered a keepable finished article yet. When you feel you're done with it, what you need to do is to submit it to the AFC queue so that established editors can review it and give you feedback — you cannot just move it into articlespace yourself as you did this time. So the article will be back at its original draftspace title in a couple of minutes, but the question of when it's ready for articlespace is up to us to decide, not you. Hope that helps a bit.
