Edit summaries[edit]

Hello, WikiJanitorPerson. I noticed that you often do not include an edit summary in your contributions, and I just want to let you know that they are strongly recommended. You can find out more, including why you should provide them, at WP:ES. Thank you. PolyversialMind (talk) 18:38, 4 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for September 9[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Orbitofrontal cortex, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Automatism. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Huh?[edit]

Did you really just call this edit to Kobe Jones "vandawism"? The American football player named "Kobi Jones" was cut from the Atlanta Falcons so there is no longer a need for a hatnote there. -- Tavix (talk) 20:47, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Could you explain why his cut from Atlanta Falcons explains what you did? I’m not being rude, I’m asking. Thank you, User:WikiJanitorPerson ☎️/🍌 20:50, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Tavix, it’s the spelling here. A person may not know the alternate spelling of “Kobi”. Thank you, User:WikiJanitorPerson ☎️/🍌 20:56, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The relevant guideline is WP:HATNOTE, whose purpose is to help readers locate a different article if the one they are at is not the one they're looking for. In this case, we do not have any information on the American football player because of the fact that his cut from the Atlanta Falcons removed him from the current roster template, thus removing the only tidbit of information Wikipedia had on him. Can you explain how my edit would constitute vandalism in your eyes? -- Tavix (talk) 20:58, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Okay I see, I’ll go ahead and revert my revert. I’m sorry. Thank you, User:WikiJanitorPerson ☎️/🍌 21:01, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It's very important to note from Wikipedia:Vandalism that any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia is not vandalism. Unless an edit is obviously vandalism, if you are reverting an edit it is much better to explain why you disagree with an edit. -- Tavix (talk) 21:06, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I just assumed that this was blatant bad-faith. I should be lots more careful in determining if edits are good faith. Thank you, User:WikiJanitorPerson ☎️/🍌 21:12, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia:Assume good faith offers some good advice on that topic. Happy editing, -- Tavix (talk) 21:17, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • I deleted the draft per WP:G3. Why would you create such garbage? Draft space is not for screwing around. I also deleted the gibberish in your sandbox per WP:G12. Consider this a warning.
