Your discovery is disturbing and fascinating. I'd like to say something, as a Sefardic Jew and concerned editor. This association with wine, North Carolina (and surrounding area), obsession with Jewish heritage that is fake - it all reminds me of someone I know to be active on the web.

Having read User:Vivisel/cohen cruse ruse I will say no more about it, it cannot be investigated, let alone proved. But I think I know who's doing this. I regret I cannot be part of the general team, but I will certainly monitor some Jewish-related pages for anything like this. Djathinkimacowboy 00:15, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Since I don't have all that much time [read: I'm not a Wikiholic & am generally busy] I haven't read all the pertinent official rules. What I want to suggest is this: perhaps aside from this work, you could introduce some rule or even the entire thing - keep others on top of it.
This way instead of seeing a bunch of kids yelling because they think an edit is POV or OR, they might check about to see if it is a "Cohen Cruse Ruse" (CCR). Hope you'll think about the idea. It scares me to read about what you have found. Djathinkimacowboy 00:42, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have some information concerning Cohen/cruse ruse. How do I contact you? Fujix100 (talk) 20:30, 18 December 2012 (UTC)Fujix100 14:30, 18 Dec 2012 (CST)[reply]

Why not post your information here? Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 21:20, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Jonathan Cohen and Jonathan Cruse are the same. Same birthdate and SSN. Fujix100 (talk) 22:09, 18 December 2012 (UTC)Fujix100 16:08, 18 December 2012 (CST)[reply]
Well, ok. Don't know how you would know this, or why this is necessary to know, really. Are more articles being edited/created that are related to this hoax? Otherwise, it is a moot point now. Thank you. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 23:12, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with JS, and couldn't help adding a link above. Carptrash (talk) 00:16, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New Cruse-Cohen related edit[edit]

A relatively minor thing, but in light of recent events on this page worth mentioning: I am reverting an unsourced edit to a page about Frank Birnbaum that reads only "He is related to Jonathan Cohen". It was made by an IP (173.217.198.166) that originates from Alexandria, VA - interested users can connect the dots themselves based on recent discussion on my Cohen Cruse Ruse user page. Folks may remember that edits around Frank Birnbaum were involved in the original hoax as well... Vivisel (talk) 16:07, 30 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Question (moved from main page)[edit]

HHHMMM! I may know of this Rabbi Cohen. Has he ever mentioned New Mexico or Florida. And he mentioned kabbalah or used kabbalah/kabbalaha de Santa fe? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikiblower505 (talkcontribs) 07:02, 8 October 2013‎ (UTC)[reply]
